Compassion & Choices is seeking a Sr. Communications Associate, Engagement Marketingto help advance our work to improve care, expand options and empower everyone to chart their end-of-life journey.
This position is primarily responsible for executing the communications and marketing strategy for Compassion & Choices’ Community Engagement and Clinical Engagement teams. The Senior Communications Associate, Engagement Marketing, has overall responsibility for managing and implementing the Engagement Marketing strategy, and providing leadership in the development of content and materials for the engagement programs.
This is a full-time, remotely-located, paid position reporting to the Engagement Marketing Director. Compensation offered will be commensurate with experience.

Primarily, the person in this position:
- Under the leadership of the Director of Engagement Marketing manages and implements integrated communications plans for C&C’s engagement efforts and provides strategic communications guidance for the Community Engagement and Clinical Engagement teams.
- Creates content to support marketing and communications of the Engagement programs, including but not limited to: writing blogs, articles, news releases, email text, newsletter articles, ad copy, and social media captions. Participates in the creation of photo, audio and video assets to accompany marketing materials
- Manages monthly editorial calendar to share strategic communications content with the organization.
- Creates communications plans for commemorative months and days, including themes, strategy and culturally competent materials.
- Serves as an ambassador for the marketing team at meetings with consultants and stakeholders, including as communications support for the various Leadership Councils, Advisory Councils and other Compassion & Choices-related entities.
- Serves as the communications liaison for materials development projects, including advertisements, collateral, fact sheets and more.
- Support internal communications efforts (including the daily media clips)
- Ensure communications products are always respectful, culturally competent, and inclusive.
- Timely and accurate completion of related reports (such as “P card”, performance reviews, etc.).
- Demonstrates commitment to and active support of C&C’s Diversity & Inclusion program.

- Assist with the organization's development and fundraising activities, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications (You will be a good fit):
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (such as, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Political Science) or equivalent work experience, or combination of formal and informal education with 3-5 years’ experience
Language Skills: Ability to write emails, press documents, talking points, speeches, articles, ads, fliers, and other necessary materials that conform to prescribed style and format and that motivate new and existing supporters to engage in the end-of-life choice movement.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, inductive and deductive reasoning…collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Convio or similar CRM, HTML, Vocus/Cision software, Google suite, MS Office.
