Job description

PATH is currently recruiting for a Communications and Advocacy Associate to support advocacy efforts targeting decision makers in the US and globally, in support of health equity for women and children.
PATH's Advocacy and Public Policy (APP) department works to improve global health by increasing awareness and support of global health priorities by working with policymakers, coalitions, and other influential individuals and groups.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and execution of creative and impactful Communications and Advocacy strategies to support policy objectives for the US government and global stakeholders.
  • Research, write, edit, and proofread communication materials including fact sheets, reports, appropriations requests, blog posts, web copy, presentations, case studies, social media posts, etc. Project manage production and dissemination of advocacy communications materials through effective tracking and timeline management, oversight of review processes, and coordination with in-house editors and designers.
  • Ensure that communications are appropriate and compelling for the intended audience and comply with PATH quality standards and brand guidelines.
  • Support advocacy leads in project management to ensure accountability to workplan and timelines, as well as reporting requirements.
  • Help conceptualize creative tactics to achieve advocacy goals, such as events, storytelling, social media campaigns, etc.
  • Conduct basic research on priority health issues and policies. Keep track of current policy issues and latest research in the global health sector and proactively suggest ways to leverage in advocacy communications activities.
  • Manage logistics for advocacy workshops and events in Washington, DC, including on the Hill, as well as virtual events.
  • Oversee efforts to strengthen contact management processes, including creating and monitoring effectiveness of email communications using tools like Salesforce and Pardot.
  • Maintain internal and external web pages to promote PATH’s work and share resources with partners.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience required; an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Experience with global health advocacy or Communications and experience working on the Hill or advocating with Congress is strongly preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to understand and translate technical information and materials (scientific or health-related) for policy-making or lay audiences.
  • High-level of attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite required. Experience with Salesforce Pardot and/or web content management systems preferred.
  • Team-oriented and adept at navigating a diverse, cross-cultural team environment and forming successful partnerships with internal and external partners.
  • Proven effectiveness working independently as well as collaboratively across teams.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

We offer our employees a competitive salary and generous benefits. For candidates based in the U.S., the annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000. The final salary is based on a variety of objective factors.
