Role Overview:
The Sr. Human Resources Specialist will monitor Mobis Parts America (MPA) policies and regulations and provide support to our Product Distribution Center (PDC) and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. As the Sr. Human Resources Specialist you will also be responsible for administering company-wide Employee Relations ("ER") programs, investigating employees' complaints, staying on top of relevant state/Federal regulations regarding HR, Payroll, Workers Compensation; Safety and Security; and employee best practices. This role also works with the Worker's compensation, Safety, and Security administrators.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate employees' complaints and review warehouse management disciplinary Action Notice ("DAN") based on the result of the investigation (if required) and monitor federal/state laws/regulations and HR operation
- Partner with warehouse managers and employees to resolve employee relations issues through coaching, counseling, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Work closely with ER corporate HQ personnel and Manager to ensure the smooth handling of ER related matters
- Co-Manage warehouse ER Programs
- Administering company-wide safety programs, training, and reinforcing IIPP
- Assist with Safety audits as necessary
- Assist with responding to general questions in regards to safety/ WC
- Act as liaison between management and HQ team to ensure communication gaps are eliminated
- Understand, monitor, and apply any relevant state/Federal regulations regarding HR, Workers' compensation, Safety, Security, and Employment best practices.
- Work closely with the Safety and Workers' compensation Supervisor to ensure smooth implementation and handling of Safety/WC-related matters.
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements
- On-site hours need to overlap 1st and 2nd shift
- Overnight travel required (up to 25%) land and/or air to assigned PDCs and HQs.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or equivalent; a combination of work experience and education will be considered
- A Master's Degree is preferred but not required
- PHR certification is preferred but not required
Experience Requirements
- 5+ years Human Resources - Industrial Relations Specialist Required
- 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in HR as Generalist or HRBP of Employee Relations,
- Experience in job analysis, Employee Relations, and HR
- Administration of multi-state programs for exempt and non-exempt Experience with international knowledge desired.
- HR Planning & Analysis
- Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, and HIPPA regulation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation, project, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter takes initiative and can research or benchmark to find best practices.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, HRIS, Budgeting, Payroll systems, SAP, Ability to program spreadsheets, etc.
