The HarperCollins Sales Analysis team is seeking a spring intern! The Sales Analysis team provides internal reporting on title and author performance and on what trends are impacting the book industry and consumer purchasing behaviors. We are data storytellers who take the raw numbers and put them in context within the larger picture of the business to inform a multitude decisions across the company.
Our spring internship program can be hybrid NYC or remote. The program has been structured to allow for as much flexibility as possible, while also providing valuable educational programming and time for team-building amongst interns. The program will run from February 20th through April 26th. Interns will be required to work 14 OR 21 hours per week (2 or 3 days) at $18/hour, depending on the availability of the intern. Once the schedule is confirmed at the beginning of the program, the intern will not be able to switch between the 14 and 21 hour option. The recruitment team is searching for applicants who identify with groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the publishing industry.

Projects for this internship will be determined based on applicant skillset. Potential projects may include:
- Supporting the team on regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
- Leveraging new and underutilized data sources.
- Identifying changes in consumer purchasing behaviors.
- Must be looking for a full-time role/eligible to work in a full-time capacity in 2024/2025
- Weekly hours are flexible (2 or 3 days per week), however, applicants MUST be available on Tuesday, February 20th from 12:00-3:00 pm EST for orientation and every Friday during the 10 weeks of the program from 1:00-2:30 pm EST for programming
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills
- Must have strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Must have a love of books!
- Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in the United States
- Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience with SQL, Access, BigQuery or similar data querying tools is preferred but not required
