We have an exciting opportunity for an Editorial Intern to join the Harper Books team! Harper is the flagship imprint of HarperCollins, and this group’s dedicated staff of editors, publicists, marketers and designers publishes an exceptional, varied, and bestselling list of fiction and non-fiction. Our books are some of the most widely reviewed ones in the country, and have won the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Man Booker Prize. In addition, Harper has a vibrant paperback publishing program with our much-lauded Harper Perennial line of beautifully produced classic and contemporary titles. Our distinguished roster of authors includes Madeline Albright, Michael Chabon, Anderson Cooper, Louise Erdrich, Roxane Gay, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Barbara Kingsolver, Ann Patchett, Esther Perel, Daniel Silva, and Jess Walter.
Our spring internship program can be hybrid NYC or remote. The program has been structured to allow for as much flexibility as possible, while also providing valuable educational programming and time for team-building amongst interns. The program will run from February 20th through April 26th. Interns will be required to work 14 OR 21 hours per week (2 or 3 days) at $18/hour, depending on the availability of the intern. Once the schedule is confirmed at the beginning of the program, the intern will not be able to switch between the 14 and 21 hour option. The recruitment team is searching for applicants who identify with groups that are traditionally underrepresented in the publishing industry.
Please submit a separate cover letter for each opportunity you apply to – applications without cover letters will not be considered.
You can submit up to five different cover letters at a time by uploading them to your profile and naming them after the positions.
