About the Role & Team
We are looking to expand our Operations Team within the Trading and Risk function here at theScore and as a constantly growing and evolving sportsbook, we are always on the lookout for the best talent to join us on our mission of becoming one of the biggest operators in the world. As a Sportsbook Operations Specialist you will be in charge of managing our sportsbook performance and ensuring the compliance and functionality of our content while adhering to our Standard Operating Procedures. This role requires a highly professional, organized, and enthusiastic individual who is data driven, has a strong interest in sports and sports betting and is willing to push the boundaries to continuously improve our product. Typical Workday at theScore
- Monitoring pre-match and in-play data, pricing, content and promotion of the US and global sports betting products to the widest possible audience.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures in conjunction with Compliance and Trading.
- Provide guidance to Trading team members during troubleshooting and escalations, ensuring the correct processes are followed and taking the lead to confirm the most optimal solution is reached and communicated.
- Collaborate with Compliance to establish processes and documentation to ensure alignment with regional rules and guidelines.
- Ensuring a high standard of sports markets are available, compliant and functional to our entire audience.
- Managing the full lifecycle of Special Markets and Futures, from ideation to settlement, including meticulous review pre- and post-release, placing test wagers and adapting Marketplaces within the app
- Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues via escalations, filing tickets & communicating relevant information.
- Ensuring all markets are set up with the correct market limits and correctly reviewed through season cycles.
- Compiling and circulating reports to inform stakeholders of business performance and forthcoming activities.
- Contributing to product development and testing to improve customer experience.
- Assisting the trading team to ensure accurate pre-match and in-play data and odds.
- Working with analytics teams to investigate market trends to obtain insight that assist in the prediction of customer betting patterns, improve revenue and ensure operational excellence.
- Liaising with Customer Services/Payments/Fraud teams to help identify fraudulent activity.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage.
- Flexibility is a must as working hours will be dictated by business needs. Must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Strong sports betting knowledge and/or trading experience is highly desired.
- Data obsessed, not just data driven, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent eye for detail and advanced communication and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and make decisions quickly.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Strong all round sports betting knowledge and a keen interest in betting and odds is considered an asset.
- Experience in assessing and calculating risk within areas of insurance, finance etc. is an asset
Experience with SQL, Python, Excel VBA is considered an asset.
