BMO Bank N.A. seeks Specialist III-IC Financial Planning and Analysis (Manager, Commercial Finance) .
Duties: Develop detailed financial and economic analysis to assist the designated business portfolio with decision support. Work closely with business leaders and Finance partners to provide financial advice and service that supports the financial management activities of the group or portfolio. Support the monitoring and management of financial performance against plans, forecasts, initiatives and objectives. Generate information and insights that support key business decisions to drive value (e.g., revenue growth, cost management, resource allocation, balance sheet optimization, etc.).
Act as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies. May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices. May own internal/external stakeholder relationships. Support and lead Financial Planning, forecasting and performance reviews that utilize plan, forecast and actual financial information to develop annual plans and targets. Perform variance analyses and ad-hoc forward-looking analyses to improve understanding of business drivers as well as opportunities to improve performance for product improvement, profit improvement, and financial impact of initiatives/strategic business decisions. Support the development of methodologies and policies to enable analyses and insights focused on financial dimensions (e.g., revenue, expense, balance sheet, capital, etc.). Determine the financial impact of initiatives and strategic business decisions and incorporate the impacts into future financial forecasts and plans. Assess reasonableness of business cases and perform due diligence during investment reviews and approvals processes. Work with the business to align key performance indicators with financial forecasts and plans. Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Employ systems including customized exception reports, and tracking reports to manage information. Integrate information from multiple sources, including financial and operational systems, to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting. Monitor and track performance and address any issues. Act as a trusted financial advisor to assigned business or group. Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives. Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business. Assist in the development of strategic plans. Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making, including economics, treasury, and competitor information. Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support. Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Work independently and regularly handled non-routine situations.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Financial Manager, or related occupation performing data-driven decision making. Specific skills/other requirements - Experience must include (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section unless otherwise stated): utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word; utilizing software and ledger systems, including Hyperion Essbase, integrated SAP S4 Hana general ledger system, and SAP Business Objects/Loan IQ; performing U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting for preparation of financials statements; performing data management and financial reporting; and performing financial modelling.
Salary: $143,728.00/year.
Compensation and Benefits:
$72,500.00 - $103,500.00
The base salary represents BMO Financial Group's hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
Base salary is one component of BMO Financial Group's total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
