Invest KOREAis one-and-only Korea’s national Foreign Investment promotion agency that is established as part of KOTRA in 2003. Invest KOREA aims to provide comprehensive services to foreign companies that are interested in business expansion and investment in South Korea. The Foreign Investment team in the New York City office is focused on facilitating bilateral business and investment partnerships between Korean and US companies.
Position Overview:
KOTRA New York City office welcomes a highly driven individual who can support the Foreign Investment team as an Investment Specialist. This is a great opportunity for a Korean/English bilingual talent who embraces KOTRA’s public mission while seeking professional growth in international business relations. The investment specialist will perform the following key responsibility such as but not limited to:
- Monitor U.S. and Korea’s financial market and investment news on a daily basis to find potential investment projects.
- Identify the potential investors and companies that are interested in doing business in Korea and promote Invest Korea program, Korea’s investment environment as well as the Korean government incentive program.
- Advise the clients on Foreign Investment and office establishment processes in South Korea.
- Maintain strong relationships with current investors and develop new relationships with potential investors, organizations, and businesses.
- Collaborate with the team to address investors’ inquiries and provide guidance through constant interaction and communication.
- Perform industrial market research and provide written analysis on various FDI issues.
- Prepare and assist investment-related business trips some of which may require out-of-state domestic travel.
- Assist the Investment Manager in administering annual key performance indicators
- Manage relationships with investors, external counsel, public institutions, and associations.
- Act as a liaison between potential investors and the Korean provincial/metropolitan government
- Collaborate with the team in coordinating national Investor Relations events.
- Provide other administrative support as needed.
Required Skills and Credentials:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English
- Proficient with Microsoft, Hangul Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Commitment to quality work products and excellent client services
- Ability to manage, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Experience and Personal Attributes:
- At least 2-3 years of work experience in international trade, investor relations, project management, public relations, market research, or related field
- Ability to actively discover and monitor potential investors and promote constant interaction with them
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and dependable
- Strategic thinker and creative problem solver
- Willing to offer and receive constructive feedback with a desire to improve
Other Details:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employment visa sponsorship
- Office Location: 460 Park Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10022
- Currently operates on a hybrid model, working hours from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday (40hr/week)
- Base salary: $51,600.00 ~ $59,100.00 per year
- Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage, and generous paid time off (including 4 major Korean holidays). Annual incentives may be given under certain conditions.
