This position is for a person highly motivated and passionate about space exploration, who is ready to step into and be part of the Gateway Program as a Systems Engineer. The Gateway, a vital component of NASA's Artemis program, will serve as a multi-purpose outpost orbiting the Moon that provides essential support for long-term human return to the lunar surface and serves as a staging point for deep space exploration. Responsibilities for this role would include reviewing requirements for spacecraft hardware and software, assessing impacts due to changing requirements, investigating details of the spacecraft design that can help software developers implement working solutions, working with international partners, and presenting suggestions to leadership at various levels.
Required:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly
- Prior experience in model based system design/specification
- Prior experience developing and maintaining software
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Background in Spacecraft Systems
- Working with international partners
- Experience with human interfaces and human systems integration
- Broad understanding across Systems Engineering Disciplines specifically Systems Engineering and Integration, Requirements Development, Test Operations, Assembly and Integration, and Test and Verification
- Experience with the NASA Systems Development Lifecycle, Life Cycle Reviews, and associated products
- Experience working in a team environment
Citizenship or lawful permanent residency required due to federal position.
