Job description

Grill/Sous Chef
Ports Cafe is looking to add to our talented team. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for cooking fresh local ingredients. Work in a fast paced open kitchen where you're able to engage with guests and watch them enjoy what you have prepared.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food for each service which may include cutting vegetables, butchering meats, bread making and pastries
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at work station and meeting prep times to ensure smooth delivery
  • Set up and clean station according to restaurant protocol
  • Maintain a clean work station area, including kitchen equipment, tables, and shelves
  • Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant is prefered but all levels will be considered
  • Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
  • Ability to read and follow cooking directions
  • organized and self-motivated

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
