Schedule:Full time - 9:00am to 7:30pm - flexibility - weekends required

What will you do in this role:
- Back up Executive Chef in managing the kitchen
- Train new staff members in the established culinary standards
- Ensure high kitchen and food standards are met
- Keeping the kitchen environment safe and hygienic
- Responsible for the purchasing and storage of food
- Help to develop innovative menu items and recipes
You have:
- 3 or more years of supervisory experience in a culinary setting
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a culinary setting
- Ability to mentor and motivate a team
- Ability to maintain a customer focus treating others with respect and integrity
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
You might also have:
- Be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Be a culinary school graduate
- Pervious work experience in fine dining, cruise ship, upscale senior living or high-end hospitality
- A focus on culinary excellence and producing the best quality food possible
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand, and/or walk for duration of shift
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
- May be exposed to unpleasant odors, contagious diseases and blood borne pathogens
- Balfour is a pet-friendly community; you may be exposed to animal hair and dander
