Systems Solutions Engineer (Pre Sales)
We are seeking to hire a dynamic Solutions Engineer (US Central / West coast) who will be responsible for partnering and supporting Regional Sales Directors in specific regions across the United States. The ideal Solutions Engineer will focus on broad solution sales, sales support, technical solution customer demonstrations, RFP/RFI review and analysis, customer responses, assisting in the onboarding of new customers, and supporting existing customers. Experience in solution sales in Public Safety, License Plate Recognition, Security and Traffic Management industries strongly preferred. This role will work closely with Sales, Product Management and Proposal teams to support the sales and business development efforts. The role will report to and coordinate all pre-sales solutions activities with the Senior Manager, Solutions Engineering.
The Contribution: (roles and responsibilities)
- Provide customer-facing, pre-sales product solutions support, including technical solution presentations and demonstrations
- Participate in customer technical sales campaigns
- Provide market research and analysis, as well insights of the industry and technology
- Review RFPs and RFIs with proposal team for selected opportunities
- Provide feedback on product/solution needs based on market trends, both to customer as well our own product management team
- Work with project managers for successful deployment of solutions sold
- Conduct customer product & solutions technology webinars in support of general sales support activities
- Invest in learning and development to be current on Rekor hardware, software, products, solutions and services
- Support trade shows as required
- Provide proactive Customer Care and serve as a high-quality ambassador of Rekor representing the organization in a positive, professional manner
Success will evidence itself in the following ways:
- Scheduling and/or participating in customer meetings to develop or close Rekor solutions in their respective region
- Targeting competitive accounts to open Rekor solutions and opportunities
- Meeting with consultants to expose Rekor Systems and solutions

You bring to the organization the following competencies:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent professional years of solution selling experience in traffic engineering industry big plus
- Able to travel approximately 50%, likely within a specific region
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification a plus
- Knowledge of IT architecture – network topology (wired and wireless), practitioners’ knowledge of the use of Advanced Traffic Management Systems
- Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal; must be very comfortable with customers (in person and virtual) for presentations and demonstrations
- Self-starter with excellent integrity and work ethics to work remotely with minimum levels of supervision
- Strong experience in building trusting, respectful, and professional working relationships with prospects and customers
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment or independently
