Pet Retailers is looking for a highly qualified legal counsel to join our team who will be responsible for overseeing the legal aspects of our business and give legal advice to management. The ideal candidate will also safeguard our reputation by ensuring that the company strictly follows law guidelines.

Job Duties:

• Give accurate and timely counsel to CEO, executives and directors in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, privacy law, corporate finance, etc.)
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
• Apply effective risk management strategies and offer proactive advice on legal issues.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties, creating long lasting relationships.
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company is operating fully within legal limits.
• Collaborate and guide management through the litigation process when required.
• Research laws and regulations in other jurisdictions, collaborate with counsel in other jurisdictions, and build relationships with counsel in other jurisdictions.
• Conduct your work with integrity and responsibility.
• Maintain current knowledge of any changes in legislation.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven work experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role.
• Knowledge and experience of corporate law.
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation.
• Ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
• Experience drafting legal documentation.
• High level of professional ethics and integrity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• BSc Degree in Law or J.D. Degree
• Florida State attorney license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

• BSc Degree in Law (Preferred)
