JOB SUMMARY

The Counsel position offers an extraordinary opportunity to learn about the vast and varied nature of serving as in-house corporate counsel. Advising many levels of the organization across a number of different divisions, this position will challenge you to strike a balance between effective risk management and developing creative solutions that support the company’s business initiatives. You will be expected to provide guidance across many areas of law. This primarily will be by drafting and negotiating contracts, but also will involve utilizing (and developing) a broader legal skillset to provide sound guidance and effective solutions across a range of legal areas.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiates, drafts, and interprets commercial agreements, including customer, supplier and vendor contracts, confidentiality agreements, and other matters
  • Maintains and updates terms and conditions of contracts
  • Reviews and improves policies and procedures as needed to ensure legal compliance and alignment with industry best practices
  • Conducts legal research as needed
  • Interprets and applies U.S. and foreign laws to business operations
  • Researches and analyzes state and federal regulatory matters and other legal issues
  • Handles special projects as needed
  • Provides education and training on legal matters to internal constituents
  • Assists with other legal matters

QUALIFICATIONS


REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as a licensed practicing attorney, preferably with in-house experience
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission and membership in good standing to a U.S. state bar with the ability to be Authorized House Counsel in Florida
  • Experience collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions, and communicating same at various levels within the organization
  • Strong drafting skills, including the ability to fine tune existing templates
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters and information
  • Experience building relationships and partnering with multiple stakeholders at various organizational levels
  • Able to travel approximately 10% of the time (once more normal business travel resumes)
