***Temperature Controlled Work Environment– Set Schedules – No Rotating Shifts***
Eagle Flexible Packaging is seeking a Printing Press Helperto support the Press Operators in the production of high-quality printed flexible packaging materials on our wide web flexographic Printing Presses. Currently hiring for 2nd Shift (Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Press Operators with setting up flexographic Printing Press (W&H central impression press and Soma high speed press).
- Assist with cleaning crew to maintain cleanliness of presses and press area.
- Stage the machine to be ready for upcoming jobs to include: (1) appropriate anilox rolls staged based on job spec; (2) metering rollers inspected and staged for the next job; (3) ink pans, hoses, and pumps staged and verified ready for use; (4) verify ink colors are staged and ready for press; (5) verify materials are at the press and ready for use; and, (6) make sure cores are cut for the appropriate web width.
- Assist with press operations to include: (1) measuring ink viscosity; (2) loading and unloading rolls from press; and, (3) moving pallets to and from press for raw materials and finished goods.
- Clean press as required by cleaning checklist between jobs and after final run.
- Clean press components after use, including anilox rolls, metering rolls, ink pans, hoses, decks, pumps, and other parts as necessary.
- Clean and organize the area around the press to include: (1) sweeping, mopping, and floor cleaning; (2) ensuring the proper chemicals and supplies are staged at the press; (3) ensuring supplies used by the press are filled and organized; and, (4) emptying garbage cans, trim containers and other refuse.
- Any other press related duties to ensure the highest efficiency of production.
- Be prepared to learn by training and example the basics of press operations, plate setting, anilox selection, color matching, ink testing, lamination and more with the intention of advancing upward in the press operation roles.
- Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed at all times. Escalate any issues/concerns to management.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Initial Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical background preferred.
- Detail oriented, committed and willing to learn.
- Ethical, hard worker with team player attitude.
- Right attitude, desire to learn, adhere to processes, cleanliness and tidiness.
- Good timekeeping, attendance, and great work ethic.
- Must be able to stand all day and lift 75 pounds or more.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs.
- Must have excellent color perception and see with or without corrective lenses.
- Willing to do whatever is needed to keep production running smoothly.
