Software Support Engineer
We are immediately hiring a Software Support Engineer. They will be a member of a Video Platform Software Engineering division concentrating on Ad Sales technology.
The Software Support Engineer will be responsible for two key areas: troubleshooting issues and observability. You will be required to work closely with the software engineering, quality engineering, support, and enterprise SRE teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of our applications and services. In addition to building solutions and utilizing tools, it will require considerable documentation to improve support and observability.

This is a Full-Time (W2) position offering competitive compensation, as well as comprehensive benefits, vacation, 401k and more.
The role is remote - U.S. located, only full time (NO- contractors, Corp-to-Corp or 1099).
Core Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting
Performs hands-on debugging, programming and testing.
Analyzes database tables, understands the business data and logic and write queries/procedures.
Identifies the root causes and the services causing issues.
Documents and communicates findings and solutions to both software engineers and business users in a clear and concise manner.
Documents and follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production troubleshooting and incident management.
Observability
Determines what alerts, monitors, and logs are needed to help troubleshoot and prevent issues.
Communicates requirements to the enterprise SRE team and the software engineering teams.
Configures and builds solutions to collect, alert, and observe metrics.
Utilizes tools to troubleshoot issues and anticipate and prevent potential issues.
Other
Guides and directs onshore and offshore team members when needed.
Collaborates with a product to understand user stories and engineering to understand architecture and design, environments and deployments
Skills & Experience:
At least 3 years of programming experience (Java 1.8+)
At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer, Support Engineer, or site reliability engineer.
Strong understanding with RDMS databases (NoSQL a plus)
Experience working with AWS (S3, Lambda, EC2, ECS, EKS, etc.)
Experience setting up monitors for troubleshooting issues (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
Willingness to work during non-business hours if needed (nights and weekends) for key business cycle and troubleshooting urgent issues
Preferred Requirements (bonus):
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
Solid understanding of micro-services architecture and API’s
Experience with data streaming (Apache Kafka)
Experience with automated testing.
Experience with version control management (Git/GitHub/GitLab)
Experience with Continuous Integration/Development
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience with application performance tuning.
$90,000 - $110,000 a year
