Position Description

In the role of a Software Engineer, you will directly impact the next generation environment health and safety (EHS) platform we're building at Dakota. This role will help design and build exceptional front-end experiences for our customers while creating the future of how we develop UIs for our future products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create the design, implementation, and testing of front-end features and user interfaces.
- Investigate, prototype, and implement new frameworks and tools.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end systems and experiences.
- Iterate on designs and features to deliver our customers a world class experience.
- Develop responsive web experiences that look great and work even better across browsers and multiple devices including mobile.
- Write and maintain unit and automated integration tests.
- Integrate with back-end systems to provide, consume and display data.
- Help guide and lead the front-end to make major improvements to our UI/UX
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related field from an accredited U.S. University or the foreign equivalent
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Deep knowledge spanning through web client development and service development, specifically in TypeScript, JavaScript, React + Redux, and CSS.
- Experience in designing net new systems or greenfield features and functionality.
- Excellent problem solving through analysis, reasoning, communication, and coding skills.
- Solid understanding of web technologies: JavaScript, DOM, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, JSON, and/or AJAX.
- Experience with Web Accessibility standards and practices.
- Deep passion for creating, developing, and delivering exceptional user experiences.
Preferred Requirements
- Proficiency with one or more high-level, object-oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, C#, and C++.
- Proficiency with one or more computing frameworks, such as Material UI, PHP, and SQL.
- Experience with improving DevOps processes including the deployment of software through a full CI/CD pipeline.
- Experience porting from an older, legacy code base to a newer code base based on modern standards.
- Focus on building high-quality systems through unit testing, covering all scenarios including corner cases.
