Software Engineer - Backend

We are looking for a skilled Python/Django Software Engineer who is passionate about developing robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python programming and extensive experience with the Django framework. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Hybrid Work Setting (2 days per week in office Columbus, OH)

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Python and Django framework.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in web development and incorporate them into our projects where applicable.
• Work closely with QA engineers to ensure the quality of deliverables through automated testing and continuous integration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience working as a Software Engineer with a focus on Java, Python and Django.
• Strong proficiency in Backend (Java or Python) programming language and understanding of its ecosystem.
• Extensive knowledge of Django framework including ORM, views, templates, forms, and authentication.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks like React or Angular is a plus.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,350.00 - $127,028.69 per year
