JOB SUMMARY:
The Software Engineer II has a solid understanding of application development methodologies.
The Software Engineer II's focus is on providing second level support for web applications and APIs and must be capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision. The Software Engineer II participates in development of core development projects, collaborating with Senior Software Engineers. They offer ideas on best practices and standards and provide leadership to Software Engineers. The Software Engineer II is responsible for performing application maintenance to correct software defects that have been identified by the client or as a result of an upgrade or maintenance.
The Software Engineer II also works with IT Systems Engineers to build out our infrastructure with deployment tools. They update job knowledge by continually learning new programming techniques and languages; participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications. Provides progress update reports and manages any issue or technical difficulties on a regular basis.
This position reports to: Manager, Application Development and Support

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Software Engineer II is accountable for the following items:

• Providing second level issue escalation point for Software Engineers
• Provides support for primary provisioning systems, various APIs, and web applications
• Tracks incidents and reports potential bug fix opportunities to the development backlog
• Analyzes, designs, and develops tests and test-automation suites for company APIs and web applications
• Collaborates with Senior Software Engineers to architect and implement web applications, APIs, and system processes for new and existing projects
• Collaborates with Senior Software Engineers to establish development standards and best practices.
• Assists Senior Software Engineers in implementing data migration tasks between various systems
• Identifies software efficiencies and new technologies and collaborating with the Senior Software Engineers
• Ensuring the security of the company's facilities against any and all unsolicited and unauthorized access
• Developing and maintaining appropriate and current documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments on the software environment(s), and all necessary support and maintenance tasks
• Protects operations by keeping information confidential
• Provide on-call support (24x7) per team schedule, providing resolution for software and interfaces developed by the ADS team.
• Arrange schedule and focus efforts toward the expeditious resolution of all problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience

• Associate degree in a technical field or 4 years equivalent experience- Required
• 3+ years experience in developing applications - Required
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server - Required
• Experience with API-first development - Preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS MAY INCLUDE
Walking, kneeling, standing, stooping, sitting, driving, hearing, talking, vision, and use of hands and fingers. Light lifting of 20 lbs. is occasionally needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS

• The Software Engineer II is a full-time exempt position. The regular business hours 40 hours a week but may vary to accommodate departmental needs.
• The Software Engineer II works in an automated business office environment with business office equipment including telephones, personal computers, copy machines and FAX equipment.
• The Software Engineer II is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record the meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
