Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) - Air Traffic Systems - Software Engineering Department (ATS-SED) has immediate early-career opportunities for talented Software Engineers to join a team of 120 Software Engineers that are developing and supporting our several Air Traffic Control Systems worldwide, such as: STARS, NWP, ATNAVICS, Australia, India, Hong Kong. Our programs are safety-of-life air traffic management systems we have developed for the FAA and international equivalents for use by air traffic controllers controlling civil and military aviation in the terminal airspace within 100 miles of airports. This is an opportunity to learn new COTS, tools, processes, and methodologies as you focus your skills to support, design, develop, integrate, and test operational software components throughout the SW development life-cycle and to support functionality within defined our ATC product line software releases. The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

- Performing/Supporting the software team to design, develop, integrate and test operational and non-operational software updates for our ATC Product Line software releases.
- Updating SW process documentation and work instructions needed to meet ATS SED Software Engineering standards and processes.
- Working with the software team and leadership to support cost and schedule objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Less than 2 years' experience in Software Development / Engineering to include experience working across the full software development lifecycle with C/C++ Programming / structured programming in a Unix/Linux based development environment.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products and tools [Word, Excel, Power Point]. Experience in SW development, testing and debugging source code; experience with ClearCase/ClearQuest, Jira, and Bit-Bucket configuration management
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment that requires frequent multi-level communication with other engineering domains, program management, and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract
- It is required to submit your transcript along with your resume when applying for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of agile, continuous development/continuous integration (CD/CI), and automated testing concepts.
- Experience with commercial or open-source test automation tools, environments, and frameworks such as Jenkins, Grafana dashboards, Gherkin/Cucumber, Selenium, CUnit/Junit, kickstart.
- Knowledge of Unix, Red Hat Linux, Python, SQL, Matlab, bash/ksh scripting.
