The Role
In collaboration with an international multidisciplinary team you will play an important role in the development of new products. You will develop interface, control, and analysis software and supporting services for industry leading scientific instruments. You will be responsible for the development of new software products in addition to maintaining existing software.
What are your responsibilities?
Design of instrument systems software with particular emphasis on ensuring that software design is robust resulting in accurate, reliable and maintainable programs.
To solve product problems as they relate to Software and related systems engineering issues.
Work closely with product owners and software architects, playing a lead role in software related product design decisions.
You will participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives to ensure design consistency, robustness and maintainability through the product lifecycle
You will contribute to proofs of concept where needed to prove designs
You will consider the application of the latest software technology
You will mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure best practices are followed.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or relevant Engineering or Science disciplines
Strong knowledge of C#, .NET development and related frameworks
Understanding of testing methodologies and tools
Excellent communication skills, technically and cross-functionally
Experience with Scrum and Agile methodology
Be curious, creative, eager to learn and interested in new technologies.
Have a care for detail and quality of work.
Able to travel for business occasionally
Great to have?
Experience leading software teams in Agile environments
Cross platform development with .NET Core/ .NET 6
Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure
Experience with Docker / Containerized development
Experience with modern web development frameworks e.g. Blazor
Experience with data analysis using Python or Julia
