Job Title: Software Administrator
Duration: 6 months contract-to-hire | W2 only
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19103 (Need locals only, Must be onsite Tues-Thurs.).
Job Responsibilities:
- Support vendor-supplied system software products running on Windows and Unix servers. Current examples include: ActiveBatch; IBM Content Manager; IBM Workload Scheduler; MicroFocus Enterprise Server; UiPath.
- Support for system software products includes: Installing; configuring; upgrading; tuning; problem determination and resolution; applying fixes; end user support.
- Work with users, team members, system administrators and vendors to provide stable, well-functioning services.
- Learn multiple system software products, largely through self-directed study of vendor-supplied documentation and on-the-job training. Some vendor-supplied education may be available.
- This is not a Windows or Unix system administrator position.
- Create and maintain technical project plans.
- Provide project feedback, status and escalations via written and verbal reports to manager and BTS management.
- Participate in the creation of procedures and other documentation for the use and support of system software.
- Use departmental Change Management and Incident Management processes for implementing changes and resolving problems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Some off-hours and weekend support required.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements:
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent knowledge acquired by work experience and training.
- Basic understanding of programming and operation of software applications.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience and/or working knowledge of programming languages, coding, development and documentation.
- Experience with any of the following software products is a plus:
