Location: ABC Pediatrics- Washington Court House

Cincinnati Children's (CCHMC) in partnership with our Physician Health Organization (PHO) is focused on improving the health of the children in our community through integrating behavioral health (IBH) into primary care.

Our goal is to strengthen child and family functioning by focusing on prevention and early intervention for behavioral and mental health concerns during families' primary care clinic visits. ABC Pediatrics of Washington Court House has partnered with the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology (BMCP) to recruit a Behavioral Health Consultant.

The successful candidate will be fully integrated within the pediatric practice, and will be a full member of the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology of CCHMC, one of the largest free standing divisions of psychology in the country. Candidates will provide consultations and brief interventions to patients of ABC Pediatrics should have experience with evidence based for common pediatric presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other behavioral concerns and sleep.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

·Compliance - Patient Services Staff
Sustain a working understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Support leadership in Compliance efforts to meet and sustain the regulatory compliance efforts of the department and hospital. Be mindful and judicious in monitoring safety and departmental policies and procedures. Ensure all individual certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled in a timely basis. Work with department managers, nurse council and magnet representatives to identify and share safety best practices. Be mindful of CCHMCs processes and compliance with CMS standards and freely communicate safety and compliance concerns to leadership team members.

·Interprofessional Practice:
Demonstrates consistent utilization of Integrated Behavioral Health model in all aspects of practice..

·Patient Care - Age Specific and Culturally Diverse
Consistently integrates age specific and culturally diverse concepts into patient care, taking into consideration both the patient's chronological age and developmental functioning.

·Diagnostic Assessment

Conduct a comprehensive diagnostic assessment and identify patient /family's health care needs, strengths, challenges and opportunities. Evaluate patient/family/ caregiver safety concerns. Intervene appropriately to reduce risk. Report suspicions of abuse and neglect to legally mandated authorities for investigations. Utilize thel assessment to guide treatment intervention to be completed within the practice.

·Department Representative
Serve on committees and specialized task groups effecting the division, hospital and or community

·Resource Management
Partner with the patient/family/caregivers in obtaining community resources. Maintain fluent knowledge of internal and external resources. Provide real time accurate information to patient/family/caregiver for resources for which they are eligible.

·Behavioral Health Interventions
Provides evidence based interventions with the goal of improving mental and behavioral health for infants through young adults with a range of behavioral health concerns. Collaborate with health care team members. Education of the patient/family/caregiver and members of the health care team about treatment options. Provide groups and programs for special populations as needed. Provide crisis assessment and interventions to patients/families/caregivers.

·Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Working for system improvement, promoting patient/family/caregiver well-being. Identify and advocate for the needs of the patient/families/caregivers within the healthcare system and community. Act as a liaison between the patient/family/caregiver within the medical team and outside agencies. Empower the patient/family/caregiver to problem-solve by exploring options of care when available and alternative plans, when necessary, to achieve desired outcomes. Facilitate communication and coordination between members of the health care team while involving the patient/family/caregiver in the decision making process in order to minimize fragmentation of services.

·Continuity of Care
Partner with the patient, family, healthcare team in the safe transition of care to the next, most appropriate level.

·Professional Development
Participates in professional growth opportunities. Educates healthcare professionals and or/students on the psychosocial aspects of patient care and the roles and functions of integrated behavioral health. Maintain current in the field through continuing education, literature and seminars and implement that knowledge into the specialty or division. Promotes a positive work environment. Attends staff meetings, supervisory conferences and in-service programs to develop professional skills, including weekly consultation groups aimed at expanding knowledge and use of evidence based treatment interventions.

·Data Management and Productivity
Maintain patient records and statistics on patient contact according to division guidelines.

·Outcomes
Evaluate efficacy, appropriateness, efficiency patient and family outcomes in relation to expected outcomes.

·Evaluation
Evaluates effectiveness of interventions, and alter interventions based on results.

Qualifications:

Required:

·Master's Degree in a clinical counseling program AND current license of LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Board required OR Master’s Degree in Social Work AND current license of LISW (Licensed Independent Social Worker) with the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Board required.

·Current License to Practice in State

·5-7 years of professional experience. The successful candidate will have training in brief, evidence-based, behavioral treatments for common mental health behavioral disorders as well as training in child development and crisis intervention and management.
