The Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs, Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home, is seeking a hardworking, passionate, and caring Social Worker that wants to make a positive difference in the lives of the men and women who served for our great country.
In the role of a Social Worker 1, your primary duty is to deliver a comprehensive array of professional social work services, support, and interventions to the esteemed residents of the Hollidaysburg Veterans' Home. Your responsibilities encompass engaging with residents, their representatives, and clients to ensure the provision and seamless coordination of essential social services.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly.
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Overtime and travel as needed. This may change based on operational need.
• Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in social work or social welfare.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
