AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program dedicated to ending poverty by building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and public agencies. VISTA’s mission is to strengthen and supplement efforts in low-income communities to eliminate and alleviate poverty by engaging volunteers from all walks of life, all geographical areas, and all age groups in a year of full-time service.
By joining Volunteer Corps at L.A. Works, you will be placed with one of our nonprofit partner organizations to serve for 12 months and tasked with a capacity-building project such as: creating sustainable systems to expand services, recruiting community members to volunteer in local programs, establishing a database of program alumni, and/or developing partnerships to bring new economic opportunities in LA county.

Eligibility Requirements
- Be 18 years or older
- Pass a national service criminal history check
- Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens and persons residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status
Summary:

Position Summary:
The Social Media VISTA is proficient in using multiple Social Media channels, has a strong sense of empathy, and can help drive exceptional customer service by helping customers who reach out to us through social networks. This position will assist in developing and executing statewide, national, and globally relevant Social Media campaigns on behalf of Cayenne Wellness Center, creating shareable content and deliverables to support awareness and engagement.
The Social Media VISTA understands the Social Media sphere, both the big-name platforms and developing niches, and is able to craft sincere and timely content to produce viral engagement. Our ideal candidate is a Social Media enthusiast with experience in copywriting, graphic design, and digital content creation.
The mission of Cayenne Wellness Center is to increase the quality of life for individuals diagnosed with sickle cell disease in California by ensuring expert, unbiased, and comprehensive care.
The goals for this program at Cayenne Wellness Center are listed below:
- Develop collaborative relationships with other organizations.
- Spread awareness about Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and Sickle Cell Trait (SCT).
- Promoting and encouraging clients to enroll in CWC´s free services.
- Support educational sessions.
- Ensuring partners are collaborating in current and future CWC´s projects.
- Evolve CWC´s outreach strategies.
Activities and Tasks:
- Create consistent, meaningful content on Social Media platforms for the respective markets.
- Responsible for producing high-quality content.
- Contribute to Cayenne Wellness Center’s Social Media objectives through strategy creation, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
- Continually improve digital media tactical planning and engagement strategies across all platforms.
- Strategically manages the channel relationships and contributes to the development and refinement of Cayenne Wellness Center’s media channels buying core strategies.
- Execute ongoing and approved campaigns according to our guidelines.
- Create new shareable memes, content, and engagement opportunities.
