The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating and building a presence in the SOCIAL MEDIA space. The goal is to achieve excellent customer engagement with a strategic approach. You will create, write and edit content for all outlets. This is an editorial position, and requires strong writing skills.

A Social Media Specialist should have a solid understanding of how each media channel works and how to optimize content. This position must stay current to new trends.

This is a nationwide company therefore this role will have travel requirements to attend sponsored events and/or to create content, photos and more.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintenance of existing company SOCIAL MEDIA structure
  • Maintenance of Search Engine location listings
  • Educate yourself and stay current regarding company history and our business units
  • Build and execute SOCIAL MEDIA strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Moderate all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community
  • Create editorial calendars and syndication schedules
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Collaborate with other departments (customer relations, sales etc) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
  • Educate self and Manage reputation management sites to create response mechanism to concerned customers and build connection with applicable dealership management.
  • Assist Human Resources/Company with recruitment, event photography, employee photos and other related actives.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience in SOCIAL MEDIA marketing or as a digital MEDIA SPECIALIST.
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills: Social media managers will need to know how to write effective copy in a lot of different styles, for websites, twitter, Facebook, etc. Knowledge of writing for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is also needed.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels.
  • Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Even through writing, SOCIAL MEDIA managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Being friendly and approachable are necessary.
  • Technical Skills: Social media managers work almost exclusively through computers. Understanding computers, SEO, internet access and being tech savvy is necessary.

Experience:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

2-5 years of hands-on experience in SOCIAL MEDIA management.

Marketing experience preferred.

Positive attitude, dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
