YOUR ROLE
As a Social Media Specialist, you will be executing our Social Media strategy across all Social Media channels including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. You will be responsible for creating engaging content, managing Social Media accounts, and fostering community interaction. Additionally, you'll utilize your video editing and graphic design skills to produce captivating multimedia content. While not mandatory, a willingness to appear on camera for live streams or video content is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Researching, ideating, and coordinating the production of high-quality content
- Collaborating with the marketing team to align Social Media efforts with overall marketing objectives and campaigns.
- Monitoring sites for popular trends, industry news, and other events and activities that relate to Filmora and digital creativity
- Engaging with followers, responding to comments/messages, and cultivate meaningful relationships with our online community.
- Creating visually compelling content including graphics, videos, GIFs, and other multimedia assets tailored for each Social Media platform.
- Occasionally appearing on camera for video content as needed.
WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- University degree in a relevant field (Social Media, marketing, communications, etc.) or post-secondary diploma in a relevant field
- 2+ years of experience in a professional environment.
- An interest in marketing and branding for digital creativity products (ex. video and photo editing software).
- Ability to provide clear feedback and perform under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Filmora and Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling copy and engage audiences effectively.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for design aesthetics and storytelling.
- Comfortable appearing on camera and presenting to an audience is a plus.
WHAT ARE OUR REQUIREMENTS?
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related field; or comparable work experience
- Superior writing and verbal & non-verbal communication skills
- Impeccable grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
- Proficiency with applying requirements and standards of multiple style guides for numerous products and brands.
- Comfortable with working on multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated and resourceful in handling tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in video editing and graphic design
