ResponsibilitiesThe Social Media Manager works collaboratively to contribute to the strategic message of the Division of Student Affairs to advance and support its mission. Creates, designs, and develops strategy for electronic media, including Social Media channels.
Designs and facilities production of digital media for the Division of Student Affairs. Edits content to create engaging and compelling visual stories that align with the client's goals and objectives. Collaborates with clients and other team members to develop creative concepts and ideas for projects. Manages and organizes digital files, ensuring that information is properly labeled, stored, and backed up. Remains up to date with the latest trends and technologies in digital media to ensure that work is innovative and cutting-edge. Communicates effectively with clients and team members to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest possible standard. Ensures that all digital media channels are optimized to engage key constituent groups. May provide basic photography and videography services.
Designs and implements all Division digital communications. Monitor e-mail and Social Media schedules to ensure appropriate volume and prevent list fatigue. Trains unit representatives as they adopt the Division's preferred marketing platforms and software.
Collaborates with departments and staff to leverage the digital and Social Media space. Ensures Division websites design and user experience are maintained in compliance with laws, ADA compliance and approved visual identity standards and serve as primary content administrator for those sites. Leverages measurement tools to provide progress and performance reports and key insights while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics; Works with various departments within the Division to meet their specific needs and requirements while building and maintaining brand recognition and standards through consistency in design; Participates in goal setting and assist with the development, documentation and implementation of appropriate styles, procedures, and protocols.
Supervises Social Media Specialist and student workers responsible for Social Media including training, scheduling, and evaluating. Identifies professional development opportunities to enhance performance.
Assists with content development across owned and earned social channels including blog posts, tweets, status updates, pins, photos, lenses, filters and videos. Creates short videos and animations for dissemination across electronic media channels. Assists with print communications as needed. Assist with the design and production of printed communication pieces and other special projects as assigned.
QualificationsA Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)
