SMMO MEDICAL ASSISTANT
POCAAN is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to become a part of our Senior Mobile Medical team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the mobile clinic running smoothly.

Job Description: A Medical Assistant, or a CNA, is responsible for assisting Doctors and Nurses in providing care to their patients. Their duties include recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments, and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals, or collecting lab samples.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vitals and document findings in the patient chart
- Help triage patients, assess the problem, consult with the nurse
- Review annual wellness questionnaire with appropriate patients
- Organize, authorize, and schedule referrals appointments with Case Manager
- Enter laboratory services
- Administer injections, perform urinalysis and another lab test, EKG
- Assist during patient evaluations and examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
- Prepare and clean the treatment area and medical instruments
- Clean, stock, and organize mobile unit and it supplies

- Demonstrate effective communication skills in building relationships with employees and clients.
- Creates good working relationships with local welfare administrators and other area service providers and support groups to facilitate access to area resources for the clients
- Substitutes for other staff and other programs when the need arises

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a Medical Assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- Punctual and self-disciplined
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Degree in medical assistance or CNA License'
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
- Escort patients to exam rooms
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Medical Assistant/Community Health
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
- Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License.
- Experience in building coalitions and partnerships.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and written reporting; workshop facilitation experience is a plus.
- A problem solver and self-starter who demonstrates the ability to think fast on their feet; a team player; able to multitask; attentive to detail
- Familiarity with non-profit training or social service organizations, with good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet explorer.
- Must be detailed oriented and able to multitask, with the ability to take the initiative, work independently, and work in a team environment.
