2nd shift Monday - Thursday
2:00pm - 12:00am
$1.50/hour shift premium
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Skive Operator/CNC Machinist will have to set up, adjust and operate the skive machine and the CNC lathe to meet dimensional and surface finish requirements on the inside surface of cylinders, tubes, sleeves, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Set up and run equipment per the proper work instruction.
2. Read and interpret shop routing and prints.
3. Measure and obtain the inspection on the first piece produced.
4. Fill out SPC charting as required.
5. Conduct inspection of parts during the run per the work instruction.
6. Locate and obtain the parts for the job.
7. Conduct computer functions on a day to day basis.
8. Check coolant fluid level and concentration weekly.
9. Responsible for checking and maintaining inserts, rollers and pads.
10. Conduct daily/weekly maintenance inspection of equipment and record.
11. Follow all safety rules while performing job functions.
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Help keep the area neat and clean.
2. Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.
3. Check machine coolant/concentration levels and service as needed.
4. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the work load, machine being down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.
5. Must be open-minded to various product designs.
6. Must be able to stay on the “task” due to the manual environment.
Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two year Associate Degree in machine tool techniques or equivalent on the job training
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Knowledge in the use of inspection equipment required
2. Able to understand blue prints
3. Set up and operate precision measurement equipment: micrometer, caliper, and bore gauges
4. Must be able to work independently
