How you'll make an impact:
The role of the Site Manager is to be the sole on premise engineering lab specific technical operations manager, with focused attention on the Automotive Engineering Team to ensure OEM / Tier 1 customer deliverables are provided on time. The individual in this position will work directly with other technical teams directly, which include Endpoint Engineering, Windows Server, Unix, Storage, Network, and Information Security.
What you'll do:
Provide experienced technical support and expertise to various Engineering teams within the Automotive Technology and Engineering department including Electrical, Mechanical, RF Engineers, IC Developers, and Software Developers. The responsibilities range from triaging incoming issues to providing Desktop support including troubleshooting in an attempt to resolve in the following areas:
Setup and support of engineering prototyping tools

• CNC machines
• 3D Printers
• Laser engraver

Support and maintain various engineering teams license servers for their specific engineering software they use on a day-to-day basis.
Lead or assist with yearly renewals of licensing/maintenance and support renewals including but not limited to the above-mentioned software tools.
Assist with renewals of cross organization tools
Provide direct technical support to the Integrated Circuit Development team. This includes maintaining physical Red Hat Linux Workstations as well as Virtual RHEL Workstations.

• Build and configure new Linux workstations and servers as needed.
• Support license server installation for various Linux software tools.
• Install development software and prerequisite packages to various servers/workstations as needed.
• Install and support LSF Open Lava job queue pool across several Linux VMs.
• Maintain NFS shares and troubleshoot when issues arise.
• Cadence Palladium Z1 host & next generation Protium for upcoming next generation chipset development.
• Installation and configuration of Cadence Palladium Speedbridge to enable additional features for next generation chipset.

Pursue quotations and purchase Engineering hardware equipment for Automotive Engineering and Technology on an as needed basis.

• Servers

• Specialized engineering cards and adapter for device control and communication
• Mobile phones, tablets, hotspots etc.
• Purchase Engineering software and or licenses on an as needed basis.

Build and support "Engineering" PC's that are outside of the configuration management of CIS

• Windows Engineering PC's
• Linux Engineering PC's
• Secondary/Tertiary Windows Test laptops
• Drive Test laptops

Support Engineering Screen Rooms

• Setup shared Engineering PCs for use inside screen rooms
• Ensure network connectivity via specialized exterior network filters that are low noise
• Setup and support network connectivity within the interior of screen rooms for multiple Lab equipment and PC's and troubleshoot when issues arise
• Ensure site wide backup power systems are operational and maintained.
• UPS Battery system quarterly/yearly maintenance
• Standby Generator quarterly/yearly maintenance
• Automatic Transfer Switch operation during maintenance and power outage events
• Provide oversight for facilities and office management support personnel and work closely with the Facilities Department on:
  
  • Contracts identifying and choosing the best vendors to service the Deerfield Beach infrastructure.
  • Technical responsibility, oversight, and support for:
  • IP Cameras
  • Security DVR Deerfield, Miami, and Orlando
  • Network room UPS network connectivity
  • Trane Air Conditioning network connectivity
  • Envoy iPads for visitor check-in
  • Setup Hoteling spaces for OfficeSpace visitors to utilize
• Installation and support for Zoom Rooms in Deerfield Beach office.

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's Degree or 10 years of equivalent work experience.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional client experience.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with ability to change priorities on the fly.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and balance various workloads simultaneously.
• Strong diagnostic and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment, as an individual contributor, and overseeing / managing a small team.
• Must be well versed in dealing with staff that is both technical and non-technical.
• Ability to organize and work on multiple projects concurrently, often under strict time constraints.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Experience

• Software packaging, installation, maintenance experience.
• ServiceNow ticket system use and knowledge.
• Active Directory User/Computer Account administration.
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and support experience.
• Ubuntu Linux configuration and support experience.
• Wi-Fi Access Point support and troubleshooting.
• Ethernet port activation and troubleshooting connectivity.
• Laptop/PC Repair experience.
• Multifunction copier and Printer setup, troubleshooting, and support
• Printer queue management.
• Experience setting up and supporting CNC, 3D Printers, and laser engravers.
• UPS battery backup and generator backup support and maintenance.
• Hurricane preparations and support during/after events.
• Willingness to travel when project needs arise.
• Ability to climb ladders and run cables as needed.
• Ability to rack and install servers, switches, and other equipment as needed.
