Shipping Supervisor

POSITION TITLE:Shipping Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shipping Supervisor will assist with managing truckload scheduled pickups. Will oversee and supervise warehouse employees to make sure all items are inspected, shipped, and processed on time while complying with company policy. Responsible for completing transactions in the ERP system in order to generate paperwork for the shipping department. The associate is also responsible for analyzing paperwork coming back from the shipping floor and complete proper shipping transactions in the ERP system.
Primarily will ensure all scheduled shipments are available and loaded on time and within budget. The supervisor monitors and oversee outgoing shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition. Confirm and ensure weights are correctly posted, that correct charges are applied, and that shipments are moved from shipping points to storage areas, and also resolve issues with shipping orders.
The Shipping Supervisor will act as a liaison between workers and management and report on shipping activities and issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Inspect loading operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications to ensure correctness and the proper use of warehouse space.
• Manage Shipping Orders and Invoices by reading all shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to manage priorities and ensure that the correct shipping methods are used. They also make sure shipping records are accurately stored in the database.
• Run and send out end of day report to leadership
• In charge of compiling a list of unfulfilled orders for future reference
• Create Shipping Labels using FedEx and UPS Software
• Generate Packing List using ERP
• Generate custom shipping labels
• Able to read sales order pick lists
• Record freight charges and add them to sales orders
• Review packing lists
• Perform related duties as required by supervision
• Able to generate shipping reports and analyze them
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has direct reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be flexible to work both 1st and 2nd shift as needed.
• Computer competency - include working with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing, knowledge of EPICOR a plus.
• Knowledge of UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager shipping software strongly preferred.
• Advance Excel skills, highly preferred.
• Ability to create, compare data and spreadsheets, and analyze data to create a plan from data given.
• Competency to supervise and lead the shipping staff, making decisions with minimal oversight from management.
• Good analytical mind and problem-solving abilities.
• Communication skills both written and verbal.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience of at least 3-5+ years of concrete and verifiable knowledge of shipping and/or logistics procedures in a shipping management or supervisory role.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred but not required.
• Must have direct shipping day-to-day experience performing routing, processing, and closing sales orders after pickup of shipments, maintaining safe and clean dock shipping area
