PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Supervise and coordinate the efforts of designated personnel in the Shipping/Receiving Department to insure the most efficient storage and shipment of finished goods; as well as the receipt and storage of raw materials without loss or damage. Manage, organize and maintain warehouse space.
POSITION FUNCTIONS:
- Receive oral and/or written instructions in performing assigned duties.
- Supervise the receipt and storage of raw material. Supervise the storage and shipment of finished goods insuring all goods are stored in an appropriate manner so as to prevent loss of fiber and facilitate ON-TIME deliveries.
- Coordinate with customer service, schedule drivers and trucks, and load goods so that all deliveries are made to our customers and inter company locations are ordered, on time.
- Maintain DOT logs on all drivers.
- Insure specification sheets are followed without exception to insure product quality.
- Coordinate with office in processing necessary paper work, checking so that proper bill and delivery tickets are provided with each shipment, and insure in freight bills are signed by the trucking firms.
- Supervise the inventory of storage areas to maintain stock in an orderly manner, so that all rolls shipped as ordered, and accurate inventories can be taken.
- Coordinate inspection of rolls prior to shipment for any defects or out of spec rolls. Insure all damaged rolls are removed and repackaged prior to shipment.
- Coordinate inspection of all equipment, trucks, and trailers within the shipping department; schedule needed repairs with designated personnel as appropriate, while staying with departmental budgets.
- Insure preventative maintenance is performed on departmental equipment on a periodic basis to insure the most efficient, cost effective use of resources.
- Insure the application of an effective program in the areas of employee training safety, two-way communication, housekeeping, quality, and proper job performance.
- If needed, assist in the loading and unloading of materials.
