Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of shipping and receiving personnel.
- Assign tasks and ensure that the team operates efficiently.
Shipment Management:
- Plan and coordinate shipments to meet customer and organizational requirements.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of goods onto trucks or other transportation methods.
Inventory Control:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or shortages.
- Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all shipments meet quality and safety standards.
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures.
Safety and Compliance:
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Training and Development:
- Train new employees and provide ongoing development for the team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Communication:
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
- Communicate with suppliers and carriers to resolve any issues.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. A degree in logistics or a related field may be preferred.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse management role.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse management software and shipping tools.
