Warehouse Shipping Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and lead a team of shipping and receiving personnel.
  • Assign tasks and ensure that the team operates efficiently.

• Shipment Management:

  • Plan and coordinate shipments to meet customer and organizational requirements.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods onto trucks or other transportation methods.

• Inventory Control:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or shortages.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.

• Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all shipments meet quality and safety standards.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures.

• Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

• Training and Development:

  • Train new employees and provide ongoing development for the team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.

• Communication:

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate shipments.
  • Communicate with suppliers and carriers to resolve any issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. A degree in logistics or a related field may be preferred.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse management role.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with warehouse management software and shipping tools.
• Attention to Detail: Must have a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate shipments.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy packages and stand for extended periods.
