Job Summary:
Provides assistance to the Shipping Lead and Supervisor in the daily operation of the Shipping Department. Tracks/closes priority orders and assists with the resolution of production problems to ensure the Shipping Department meets daily departmental goals for quality, sorting and manifesting. Oversees the effective cross-over between shifts, assisting with training, and along with the Shipping Lead and Supervisor, assists with staffing decisions based on headcount and workload.
Essential Duties:
- Acts as subject matter expert utilizing proficient skills in all Sortation/Packing/Shipping duties
- Works to meet daily departmental goals through interaction with Shipping associates, Shipping Lead and Supervisor
- Coordinates associates with the Shipping Lead and Supervisor to maximize Shipping Department productivity by shifting labor within the department according to workload.
- Trains associates are properly and ensures they are following operational procedures in the Shipping Department
- Ensures that Shipping associates are performing required quality checks on all books based on LSI’s quality standards.
- Ensures all TAT orders ship on time
- Verifies count and accuracy of skids.
- Monitors the conveyor line for inbound totes and assigns batches to stations as needed.
- Actively tracks down and closes out TAT as well as priority orders
- Monitors Shipping area workload and provides direction to Associates on work flow and priorities
- Communicates with EDI, IT, CS and Transportation departments on resolving order issues
- Enters and follows up on Lightning Bugs to resolve order or file issues
- Basic knowledge and understanding of the workflow in the Production and Case Departments
- Assists on daily closing out of shipments
- Complete all orders waiting on damages and reworks.
- Monitors Batch summary report for orders in a Sorted or In Packing status.
- Monitors all sort stations for correct packing groups being sorted.
- Maintains Shipping area cleanliness and organization
- Coordinates with Supervisor and Shipping Lead regarding break/lunch schedules and workflow.
- Monitors associate performance and provides feedback to the associate, Shipping Lead and Supervisor
Other Duties
- Provides backup for trainer and lead.
- Other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to walk and stand continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 50 lbs. during the assigned shift – 1-25 lbs continuously and 26 to 40 lbs frequently and 41-50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to push/pull in a manufacturing environment up to 50 lbs to push during the assigned shift – up to 40 lbs frequently and up to 50 occasionally.
- Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel/squat, twist/turn, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
- Ability to work designated 12 hour shift including overtime as required.
- Exposure to wide range of temperatures.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year shipping experience
Additional Information
B Shift: Wednesday, Thursday Friday and alternating Saturdays from 7am to 7pm
$20/hour + $1/hour Weekend differential (If applicable).
