Shipping Specialist

This position is responsible for packaging and shipping compounded medications at our pharmacy in Berkeley. This position is full-time and onsite with a Monday through Friday 9 to 5 schedule. Reports directly to the Lead Shipping Specialist

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and package patient medications appropriately for shipment via FedEx
• Prepare patient medications for pick-up
• Custom package patient medications by client required branded materials and requirements
• Differentiate packaging between refrigerated, freezer, and regular products
• Scan and communicate with patients via customer app with FedEx tracking number, as appropriate
• Monitor and follow-up on FedEx tracking of patient and facility shipments
• Escalate shipping issues as needed
• Responsible for maintenance and filing of packing lists
• Orders and maintains packaging and supplies used for shipping
• Manages and communicates with clients on specific branded packaging inventory needed tor replenish
• Maintains a clean working environment
• Participates in training as needed such as Shipping with Dry Ice Handling Certification
• Any other duties necessary to ensure the functionality of the business

• Ability to work with technology including but not limited to Propel, Zoom, ZenDesk, Guru, Outlook, and use technology to become more productive
• Ability to multi-task and work in fast-past environment
• Ability to problem solve effectively
• Ability to follow policies and procedures, basic math skills
• Motivated self-starter with great attitude, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit
• Able to work under pressure to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks and meet deadlines within a fast paced and changing environment

The ideal candidate would meet the following requirements:

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Experience and familiarity with FedEx.
• Pass drug screen test, background check, pre-employment verification process
• Read, understand and be compliant with HIPAA
• Preferred Licensed Pharmacy Technician with good standing with the Board of Pharmacy
• Working Conditions: Standing, walking, sitting, reaching above shoulders, reaching waist level, reaching below knee, climbing, lifting above shoulder up to 20 lbs and lifting waist level up to 20 lbs.

Valor’s pay band range for this position is $20 to $24 per hour. This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Valor’s total compensation package for employees.
