SAIC is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Stock Clerk to provide support at the SAIC Middletown, RI Office for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center for multiple programs.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide support in preparing and arranging materials and products in bulk and non-bulk forms for distribution or storage; moving and loading or unloading equipment, materials, and products.
- Operate or tend to pipeline pumps and valves to transfer liquids
- Drive forklifts and related material-handling machinery and equipment; and use scoops, hand trucks, and pallet jacks to load and move materials.
- Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard.
- Sort, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice,
- Examine stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.
- Compile reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued, may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock, and may cut stock to site to fill order.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Must be able to work independently, but also in a team environment and share information with others.
- Must show initiative and have the ability to work on multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, and flexibility are required; the ability to establish a solid working relationship with customers, vendors, technical staff, managers, and peers, and various Government and contractor personnel.
- Computer Skills are to include proficiency in MS Office Suite with advance skills in Excel.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- Forklift Experience
- MS Office proficiency including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Detail oriented and organized
- Quick learner and proactive
- Ability to manage logistical issues
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- DoD Experience
- Ability to work with databases
REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Candidate MUST be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance to start on contract and a Secret clearance to remain on contract. Citizenship required to obtain clearance. SAIC will help candidate obtain.
