Title: Shipping Logistics Specialist

Monitor vessel fixture from countersigned contract to completion of the voyage and settlement of accounts.

Handle day-to-day freight payments and system updating. Provide backup support to logistics managers and department as needed.

Responsible for careful laytime calculations, negotiation, and settlement of laytime and final freight with owners and final weight and quality settlements with customers.

Ensure accurate data entry and uploading of relevant supporting documents to new systems being developed. SAP and BSM.

Disseminate throughout the organization shipping instructions, freight rates, inspection costs, quality claims, port expenses, bank charges, sales commissions and stevedore damage etc.

Support chartering department with vessel vetting, nominations of vessels to customers and yards.

Process payments to suppliers of support services such as surveyors, broker and agencies

Working knowledge of Microsoft office. Physical demands: Able to sit for up to 7-8 hours.

No experience. On the job training will be provided.

Position has Global reach and directly impacts profitability of all regions that export scrap metal. All bulk transport costs directly affect final FOB values.
