Summary:
We have an immediate need for a positive and professional Shipping Coordinator to join our team. From shore to shelf, the Shipping Coordinator facilities the timely pickup and delivery to and from our warehouse. This position works closely with inbound and outbound operations to support our daily multi-channel business needs, including but not limited to premium cigars and pipes. A successful candidate will demonstrate keen attention to detail, superior organizational skills and a strong competency to learn advanced systems and tools. An interest in premium cigars and/or pipes is preferred, but not required.
What can you expect as a Shipping Coordinator with Scandinavian Tobacco Group/Meier & Dutch?
- Pickup and schedule inbound and outbound freight to align with receiving capacity and business needs.
- Call and email freight dispatchers to provide updates on shipment conditions.
- Train in arrival journal creation to support the receiving coordinator.
- Maintain a log of inbound and outbound freight.
- Prepare weekly reports on the status of outbound shipments.
- Facilitate all company’s receiving and outbound needs including but not limited to receiving, marketing, design, and warehouse receipts.
- Floater for all other receiving and inbound functions.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
- HS Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer knowledge and skills to utilize computer software for scheduling freight for shipments.
- Technical agility to learn new tools, technology, and processes.
- Detail oriented with an ability to perform quick and accurate data-entry.
- Ability to produce on-time quality deliverables on-time in a deadline driven environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interaction with internal staff, external carriers, and supplier distribution resources.
- Positive attitude, flexibility and team orientation.
- A goal-driven mentality focused on achieving key metrics determined by the organization.
- A general understanding or willingness to quickly learn the premium cigar and pipe industry.
- MS Office Proficient: Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX and Manhattan SCALE is a plus.
