Shipping Coordinator

Job Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and highly dependable Shipping Coordinator to play a crucial role in our logistics and fulfillment operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end process of preparing, packaging, and shipping products to ensure timely and accurate delivery to our customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Shipping Preparation:
• Carefully and accurately package products according to specific guidelines and standards.
• Utilize appropriate packaging materials to ensure the safe transport of goods.
• Organize and prioritize orders based on shipping deadlines and customer requirements.
• Inventory Management:
• Regularly update and maintain accurate records of inventory in the shipping area.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to restock packaging materials and notify relevant parties of low stock levels.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation processes.
• Order Processing:
• Receive, review, and process incoming customer orders.
• Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to address any order-related issues.
• Ensure that all orders are picked, packed, and shipped in a timely manner.
• Quality Control:
• Conduct thorough quality checks on outgoing shipments to guarantee product integrity.
• Report and document any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the appropriate supervisors.
• Work with the quality assurance team to address and resolve any product-related issues.
• Shipping Equipment:
• Operate and maintain shipping equipment (forklifts), including but not limited to, weighing scales, tape machines, label printers.
• Notify the maintenance team promptly about any equipment malfunctions or the need for repairs.
• Communication:
• Establish effective communication channels with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to ensure timely and accurate pickups and deliveries.
• Provide shipping information to customers, including tracking details and estimated delivery dates.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or shipping are a plus.
• Min of 3-5 years of previous experience in a shipping, warehouse, or logistics role.
• Experience operating forklifts and other lifting equipment is a .
• Proficiency in using shipping software and systems (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.)
• Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to [specify weight] pounds.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements: The position may involve standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting heavy packages.

Working Conditions: The role is based in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and may require occasional overtime during peak seasons.

Please note that it is not typical for AGSE employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role - especially as a new hire - and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Subject to the foregoing, the current pay scale for this position is $18.00 - $28.00 per hour.
