Duties and Responsibilities
- Check orders readiness with production and shipping personnel
- Schedule trucks (LTL, FTL, and parcel packages) through logistics programs
- Assign carriers based on price, service, and delivery time
- Prepare and print shipping documentation through ERP system
- Coordinate freight pick-ups
- Work with drivers and ensure timely loading/unloading
- Assist Shipping personnel with any packaging or loading issues
- Estimate shipment sizes and weights, provide freight quotes to Sales
- Communicate with Planner, Customer Service and Sales regarding shipment of orders
- Communicate daily with a manager on order status, shipping status, and any issues pending
- Receive, document with accuracy and label incoming materials
- Organize and file Shipping and Receiving paperwork
- Follow attendance and work rules policy
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Excellent math skills such as multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office (specifically intermediate level functions within Excel), and other software programs and applications
- Extremely accurate data entry and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with supervisor and co-workers ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and have adequate hearing and visual acuity and superior understanding of verbal and written instructions
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Forklift certified is a must
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Office position in a heated and air conditioned shared office as well as heated but not air conditioned warehouse/production area- Safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required in the manufacturing environment
- Physical requirement of the position includes reaching, gripping and carrying up to 25 lb., plus standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting and walking
- Must handle multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast paced, high stress work environment.
