Position Summary
Responsible for supervising employees, coordinating Service Deli activities, and upholding standards of the Service Deli. Promotes a high level of productivity and member service. Participates in all duties of the Service Deli.
Job Duties/Essential Functions

· MERCHANDISING & INVENTORY: Understands and effectively applies department principles. Implements department standards. Maintains a neat, clean, and professional working environment.
· MEMBER SERVICE: Ensures areas of responsibility have appropriate coverage to provide proper member service. Emphasizes the importance of good member service with employees understands that it is job #1. Maintains a positive attitude during difficult circumstances such as handling member, employee, and/or supplier concerns, etc. Finds ways to ensure member concerns are addressed.
· ADMINISTRATION: Writes an appropriate schedule for department. Uses all the information available to ensure efficiency and productivity.
· MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Teaches employees how to do their jobs in the most efficient and effective manner. Respectfully gives both corrective and positive feedback in a timely, specific manner, formally (Performance Logs, Appraisals, Appreciation Notices, etc. ) and informally (while performing work in the department, etc. ). Ensures employees demonstrate appropriate, professional work practices and behaviors holds employees accountable when behavior is contrary to policies and procedures. Clearly communicates expectations, tasks and goals in a way that employees understand. Is fair and consistent in the application of all rules, standards and policies.
· COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner and adjusts communication style to the audience (e.g. , members, employees, VP, etc. ). Uses communication tools (e.g. email, Google Docs/Slides/Sites, texting) effectively, and in accordance with company policy. Actively asks questions to gain understanding.

· COMPLIANCE & SAFETY: Identifies and follows up on issues of noncompliance and notifies appropriate levels of management in a timely manner. Takes measures to ensure employee and member information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy. Understands and adheres to Company policies and procedures, including the Employee Agreement.
· Participates in restocking ingredients and supplies, food preparation, stocking display case, and cleaning up. Utilizes carts and rolling racks to perform daily duties. Monitors finished product to see that department consistency and quality standards are met. Monitors product presentation and merchandising. Assists in chicken room.
· Observes employee performance to ensure health code compliance, such as sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates. Upholds safety and security procedures.
· Assists in cleaning and sanitizing deli work areas including deli prep room, rotisserie chicken room, chicken prep area. Sweeps, sprays, mops, washes, wipes, applies cleaning agents, and operates pressure washer.
· Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service. · Determines production requirements. Runs daily sales numbers, damaged and destroyed food items numbers, and sales per man hour numbers.
· Coordinates duties, breaks, and lunches of Service Deli team. Leads, sets pace, and provides training, encouragement, advice, and feedback to Service Deli employees. Offers feedback to Manager for employee performance evaluation.
· Assists with physical inventory periodically (13 times per year). Assists with orders placed through buying office for equipment, product, and supplies.
· Coordinates proper maintenance and repairs for machinery, equipment, and deli implements.
· Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
· Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery · Phone, computer, calculator, copier, fax, rotisserie, combi heat/steam oven, manual tenderizer, blast chiller, chicken chopper, warming case, wrapping machine, shears, knife, large wheeled racks, low-pressure washer/foaming machine, commercial dishwasher, 3 station sink, grease reservoir, grease caddy, cardboard baler, trash compactor, air hose cleaner, flatbeds, manual pallet jacks Non-Essential Functions · Assists with Front End duties as necessary.

· HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation (within 30 days of hire) Leadership Development 101 (within one year) Costco Pay Policies (within 90 days of promotion)
· Hazard Communication and JHA (initial assignment), Costco Hazardous Materials DOT Training Course: Part 1 (within 30 days and then every year), Hazmat Universal Waste Training- Short Version (within 30 days and then every year), Option STOP Training (within 30 days), Level 2 Food Safety Certification (within 30 days), Food Handler’s Permit (prior to working in a foods area and only where required by state or local jurisdiction).
· Must be current on annual safety training within 30 days of hire. Recommended: · High School Diploma or GED preferred. · Supervisory experience preferred. · Food service experience preferred. · Communication skills, computer skills, and math skills preferred.
