Job Overview
Spirent is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with excellent technical acumen to implement Landslide and Vision Works network assurance solutions and is expected to work directly with customers. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mind, excellent communication skills, and a successful track record in a similar role. The candidate must have the desire and determination to successfully deliver Spirent solutions and be knowledgeable about Spirent’s high-value solutions that enable our customers to solve business problems and maximize their return on investment.
This individual will work closely with the Spirent solutions architect and Project manager to implement our customer’s VisionWorks testing needs across physical and virtual network topologies into specific product and/or service solutions. This individual will need to establish a collaborative process to implement practical plans from requirements documentation and scoping documents.
This position is for individuals who embrace technical challenges and solve problems regardless of scope and complexity. You will be part of a team that supports your ability to drive business revenue for a growth-oriented company and develop professionally.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will support a sales team that collaborates with our customers to ensure the deployment of the highest-performing solutions and services. Our solutions allow service providers, equipment manufacturers, enterprises, and governments to thoroughly evaluate product performance and network interoperability and realize efficiency gains prior to deployment which positively impacts the business objectives of these organizations.
Your primary focus will be to drive technical end-to-end solutions to our clients as part of an integrated sales team. Pre-sales activities include solution development, technical presentations, design documentation creation, assisting with technical questions or concerns during the sales process, frequently participating in the project specification process, acting as a liaison between Spirent's sales/business development and engineering groups, and leading key customer proof of concepts in
addition to direct customer engagement in support of the sales team's objectives.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, upgrades, general support, Test Case Development assistance (see Test Case Development below), VCP Site Rollout & Migration, orchestration support, training and mentoring of the customer’s users, and other solution-related support activities.
Core Test Case Implementation
- Supplier will utilize the Pre-Deployment System to develop synthetic test cases commensurate with the Continuous Monitoring and Ad Hoc requirements identified by the client.
VCP Site Rollout & Migration
- The VCP Site Rollout phase will include the execution of an agreed-upon Acceptance Test Cases at up to sixty (60) VCP Sites. The rollout will be in accordance with the Project Plan.
Test Case Development
- Supplier will assist with Test Case Development. These test cases are in addition to the test cases identified in the Core Solution Implementation section above. The tests will be developed using Spirent’s standard VisionWorks platform and vTA capabilities.
Job Requirements
Education: Required
- Bachelor's degree with technical focus from an accredited university required or equivalent work experience. A Master's degree with a technical focus is a plus.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in telecommunications network design or deployment
- Experience working with Tier 1 and 2 carriers, NEMS, and MSOs, in a customer interfacing role.
- Networking background, specifically in carrier networks and services.
- Understanding of existing and future 3GPP/3GPP2 network architectures, 5G core architecture, nodes, and interfaces.
- Knowledge of wireless network nodes such as: X-CSCF, PCRF, HSS, AAA, SGSN, GGSN, MME, P-GW, S-GW, Home Agent, WAP Gateway, DPI Solutions and Billing systems, IPv4, IPv6, Proxy Mobile IP, GTP, Iu, Gb, Radius, Diameter.
- Direct experience with LTE and IMS functional elements and technologies
- Must have excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools (protocol analyzers, LTE/5G system simulators, analyzers, and packet sniffers).
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including creating methods of procedures (MOP) as required.
- Self-motivated with a track record for completing projects on time.
- Excellent communication, client relationship management & interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Ethernet, SDN Technologies and Principles, RTP, RTCP, Netconf-Yang.
- Knowledge of API’s – REST, Tcl, Python.
- Basic level hands-on Landslide knowledge
- Installation, Upgrade, downgrade, database backup, log gathering.
- Data message flow configuration and modification
- VoLTE Call flow knowledge
Annualized Salary Wage Range: $151,000 - $191,000
Spirent applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience at or in line with the minimum requirements.
