The Senior Sustaining Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for providing technical leadership for the Sustaining Engineering activities of the Microbiology Instrument Product Family by collaborating with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality Engineering, and Technical Support teams to prioritize the projects for ensuring business continuity.
This position is part of the Microbiology Business Unit located in West Sacramento, California and will be On-Site at least 3 days a week. The manufacturing of the instruments is located at a Beckman Coulter facility in Miami with potential travel to the site (~ 25%). In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide technical leadership for the Microbiology Instruments to manage the Sustaining Engineering funnel of efforts with an eye toward continuous process improvement in the DBS environment.
- Support the procurement, manufacturing, and service of the current instruments by driving the design changes required to maintain the DHF, DMR & DHR through the life cycle.
- Strategically manage End of Life and supply chain risk and lead process improvements with internal partners and stakeholders.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Hardware related field) with 5+ years of relevant work experience OR MS degree in same field with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Doctoral degree in same field with 0+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in sustaining and lifecycle management of complex hardware instruments
- Experience in working with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and Field Support
- QSR/ISO regulations & standards and risk management (ISO14971) in a regulated environment
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Microbiology, Automated diagnostic, or life science Product Development
- eCAD & mCAD experience
- Experience in document control and change control
- Experience working with internal and external R&D teams
- Experience managing OEM peripherals and accessories (printers/PC/barcode printers)
- IVD industry experience
The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
