Job Title: Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Med Surg RN, you will provide expert care to patients admitted to the medical-surgical unit, delivering quality nursing interventions and implementing effective treatment plans. Your role will involve closely monitoring patients, administering medications, assisting physicians during procedures, and providing emotional support to patients and their families. Strong communication skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor vital signs, ensure accurate documentation of patient information, and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and resolve complex clinical issues.
- Assist physicians during medical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, promoting optimum understanding and participation in the treatment process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including nursing interventions and patient responses.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions as required.
- Stay updated with current medical advancements, new medications, and treatment modalities in medical-surgical nursing.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid and current RN license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor's or associate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a Med Surg nursing role.
- CPR and BLS certification.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to apply evidence-based nursing practices.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as needed.
