Job description

At Chick-fil-A, Senior Shift Leaders are responsible for assisting the leadership team in all aspects of shift management and ensuring that each restaurant guest has an outstanding experience. As a Senior Shift Leader, this position would require operational excellence and have the ability to effectively manage the day to day operations. The Senior Shift Leaders will be in charge of shifts and the team. This leadership position will encourage the team and have the ability to oversee all aspects of the shift and effectively anticipate and problem solve any issues that may arise. The ideal candidate would have flexible hours and must be available to work 30+ hours per week and at a minimum one weekend shift.


Responsibilities include:

  • Insures that Team Members follow recipes and read tickets to accurately prepare all orders.
  • Insures that Team Members are extremely accurate with weights and measurements for all recipe items.
  • Insures that Team Members work at a pace to maintain restaurant's established speed of service guidelines.
  • Can effectively create line-ups and manage breaks.
  • Oversees daily shift operations.
  • Monitors the completion of daily cleaning lists.
  • Works with Team Leaders to create line-ups, manage breaks and monitor productivity.
  • Assist BOH Director with kitchen cleanliness, food safety and inventory management.
  • Manages the opening/closing of the restaurant
  • Monitor Time Punches (Late Arrivals, Call-Outs, etc)
  • Participate in Safe Daily Critical(s), ERQAs, and Equipment Temperature Checks while immediately correcting identified issues.
  • Invests in the development of Shift Leaders, trainers and team members and continually encourages the team through the shift.
  • Hold the Team accountable to ensure that Hospitality Standards, 2nd Mile Service, Core 4 and Values are being exceeded.
  • Can handle and problem solve high level CARES as well as any in restaurant guest issues.
  • Monitors CEM scores, daily labor productivity and food quality.
  • Always exhibits Intentional Care to the Team and our guests and strives for operational excellence.
  • Is Operationally sounds on all positions and can identify key areas that require additional support or intense focus.
  • Growth of the leadership team. Who is going to fill the next seat?
  • Hold the Team Accountable for Policy Standards, Timeliness, grooming, cellphones, uniforms, etc.
  • Communicates and anticipates any inventory needs to the Back of House Director
