In this role, you will work alongside engineering managers and account managers to provide Project Management Services supporting various electric utility clients. You will oversee a portfolio of electric utility projects, with a diverse blend of transmission line, distribution line, and substation engineering throughout the Mid-West and Northeastern United States. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be part of an established Project Management Office (PMO) within our division, responsible for portfolio management, people leadership, and driving special initiatives. Additionally, you will lead larger proposals, manage a team of Project Managers, and ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering to Leidos' Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Mentor and develop project management staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
  • Interface with clients and internal stakeholders to address issues, report progress, and mitigate risks across the project portfolio
  • Oversee the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates, and responses to Requests For Proposal
  • Manage monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable processes
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities to support organizational growth
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and quality control standards
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, including clients, project teams, subcontractors, and support personnel
  • This role is intended to be hybrid in nature, so candidates should be able to work out of one of our Power Delivery Services offices at least 3 days/week

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive Project Management experience, preferably in the electric power industry, or associated field.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on portfolio management and team development
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6) and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to travel periodically as required, so candidates must posses a valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP Certification or willingness to obtain within two years
  • Direct experience with electric power infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience in the electric utility industry
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams in a consulting environment
