Join Sedaro as an early and critical team member as we develop the world’s first digital twin platform for complex systems. Sedaro is hiring a Senior Project Manager to help achieve our mission of building infinitely scalable space system simulation software in the cloud.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading software development teams and working with US government and commercial customers. The Senior PM should have a thoughtful approach to decision-making; knowing when to move fast and when to be thorough.
The ideal candidate has excellent project management skills, with extensive experience in organizing, planning, and executing large scale projects to meet organizational goals and customer needs. This position requires self-sufficiency and the ability to direct team members through all phases of assigned projects. The Senior PM should be able to give and receive constructive feedback and have a strong ability to meet tight deadlines. They are motivated to own a project from start to finish, and can understand the big picture as well as how it fits within all aspects of the business. This person is experienced with many industry tools including the MS Office Suite, and other project management software. This is a full-time in-person position located at our corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA.

Relevant Abilities:
- Extremely organized - you will need to plan and schedule multiple milestones, deliverables, and meetings on a regular basis
- Excellent communication skills - you will be working with external customers and the internal software development team and need to be able to effectively communicate customer needs to the team
- Effective written skills - many of the project deliverables will be PowerPoint presentations and reports (e.g., status reports, preliminary technical reports, and final reports)
- Processed-oriented with the mindset to continuously improve how to meet customer needs
What you will accomplish:
- Lead a team of modeling engineers, systems architects, and front-end developers to help deliver a high-performance and user-friendly software tool that meets customer needs
- Own projects from start to finish
- Understand customer needs and communicate these needs to the team to implement in an agile software development methodology
- Develop PowerPoint slide decks, written reports, and schedule project sprints relevant to the customer tasking
- Provide input on proposals, white papers, and other non-project related deliverables
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of modeling & simulation, system and subsystem analysis, and data analytics
- 8+ years of experience managing government programs
- Extensive experience leading client meetings, scheduling milestone events, tracking deadlines and invoice dates
- Specialized experience leading a team of software developers
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other relevant field
- Understanding of agile software development processes
Additional Desirable Experience
- Experience with software development programs
- Experience managing DoD programs from the contractor side
- Experience managing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs
- Experience with MS Office Suite, project management software (e.g., MS Project, Click up, etc.)
- PMP Certification or similar
- Master’s degree (or progress towards) in engineering, business, or other relevant field
- Experience managing budgets and invoicing deliverables
