Senior Project Engineer
Location: Headquartered in Plainwell, MI
- Some telecommuting allowed/expected.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- A Senior Project Engineer (SPE) works on Controls and Automation projects. The SPE is involved in the management, design, programming, etc. required to complete assigned tasks and projects successfully. A project is a temporary endeavor with a defined beginning and end (usually time-constrained and often constrained by funding or deliverables) to meet unique goals and objectives, typically to bring about beneficial change or added value.
- We are seeking an experienced PLC and SCADA Programmer. This position will be responsible for programming automation and control systems involving various applications. The candidate will have proven experience in PLC logic and SCADA programming. Must be able to read logic and P&ID diagrams for program design, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up. Experience with databases and reporting tools is a plus. Hands-on, recent experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation, and recent experience with Wonderware are big pluses.
- The Senior Project Engineer is essential in ensuring that the critical issues of cost, time, quality, and, above all, client satisfaction are met.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning
- Understand the scope of the project in collaboration with management.
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project successfully.
- Understand the resources (time, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
- Maintain a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
- Review the project schedule with management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required.
- Understand the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated (Phases) at its completion.
Implementation
- Design, program and/or install the controls and automation system as required.
- Work with other Engineers to ensure execution of the project according to the project plan.
- Manage project budget to meet established goals.
- Procure the required hardware and software as required for the project.
- Maintain good customer relations and provide customer support.
- Publishing project status reports, related project documentation
Control
- Produce Project Status Reports as required.
- Maintain good communication with customers.
- Be aware of project milestones and related billing and notify management when milestones are achieved.
- Complete project deliverables on time and on budget.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in control system PLC and SCADA equipment; PLC programming and system startup/debug.
- Experience with any / all of the following: Rockwell RS Logix and View Platforms, Inductive Automation (Ignition), Wonderware.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving skills.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
- Typical Travel Required: Approximate 10% overnight travel. Day travel to nearby client sites will be more frequent.

- Panel Building - We are a proud UL Control Panel Designer & Builder with certifications in UL508A and UL698A.
