Job Description:
· Senior Payroll Specialist proficient in external payroll audits including, but not limited to, compliance audits for states like California, New York, Florida, and more.
· The successful candidate will have excellent proficiency in running successful payrolls and ensuring compliance to federal/state laws.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Conduct external payroll audits for multiple countries, territories, including California, New York, and Florida, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
· Manage and deliver timely, accurate and compliant payroll processing.
· Knowledge and ability to process a complex payroll environment in multiple countries (USA, Canada) with several different employee types (Hourly, Salary, Union) simultaneously
· Collaborate with the finance and human resources departments to align and streamline payroll processes.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations affecting payroll
· Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to the payroll process.
· Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and external parties.
· Prepare and present reports related to payroll operations to the VP of HR Operations.
· Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX and other standard audit requirements.
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience & Education:
· Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing and audit roles, especially within the states of California, New York, and Florida.
· Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to salaries, wages, taxes, benefits, and other payroll related matters.
· Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.
· Proficiency in using advanced payroll software.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
· Workday and UKG experience preferred
